Activities - Workshops


• Apart from the activities programmed for the diplomatic attachés, the Institute organized a workshop session under the title "To Face Risks" that was held on February 24 and February 25, 2008 in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and supported by the French Embassy in Amman.26 participants from different ministries and official departments have joined the workshop.
• A specialized Workshop on Ratifying International Legal instruments on the Fight against Terror. This workshop was organized at the JID over three days (21-23/5/2006) in cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.  21 legal experts from different government organizations took part in the seminar, which discussed Jordanian anti-terror laws.  Participants recommended taking the necessary measures to ratify a number of instruments to make them compatible with the UN anti-terror protocols.
• The JID, in cooperation with the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures based in Alexandria, organized two workshops in Amman in the period 23-29/6/2007 on:

 "The Importance of Linguistic Diversity for Cultures", 23-25/6/2007.
-
 "Using New Educational Tools on Religious Diversity during Studies", 27-29/6/2007.

The two workshops included teachers and experts from a number of European and Arab Countries, and a number of teachers from Jordanian schools.
• A training workshop on projects and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, how to submit projects and receive assistance, 22-23/1/2007.
• The JID, in cooperation with the United Nations Peacekeeping Department and with support from the Pearson Peacekeeping Center of Canada and the Folke Bernadotte Academy of Sweden, works to organize a workshop on “The Principles of peacekeeping” in the period 5-6/9/2007, with high level participation from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Jordan.
